Story:

Miraa was rescued from a beef ranch in Colorado in the fall of 2025. We first received a call from the rancher’s wife about a young calf with dwarfism who was at risk of being sent to auction. In the beef industry, calves with conditions like dwarfism are often considered “unproductive” and are frequently killed at a young age. When our team arrived, the calf had been separated from his mother, and both were calling out in distress. It was heartbreaking to witness, and we knew we couldn’t allow them to be separated forever. After several emotional conversations with the rancher’s wife, we were able to rescue both the calf and his mom, whom we named Miraa and Krishna. During the rescue, we discovered that Miraa was likely pregnant, a common reality in the beef industry, where females spend much of their lives pregnant with little break in between. After arriving at Luvin Arms, we confirmed that Miraa was indeed several months along. Thanks to your support, Miraa will now get to raise her babies herself, and this little family will remain together in a safe, loving environment.
