Story:
Merida’s story is one of bravery and resilience, just like the princess she’s named after.
At only three months old, Merida was on the back of a truck, headed toward the same fate that millions of chickens in the industry experience. But whether driven by courage or instinct, she made a desperate leap for freedom, along with a few other chickens. Tragically, all the others who jumped lost their lives on the road.
A compassionate community member driving behind the truck witnessed the scene and saw Merida dart into a nearby construction zone. They were able to safely bring her into their car and immediately called Luvin Arms to ensure she had a safe place to go.
Merida sustained only minor injuries and recovered fully. Today, she lives alongside her rooster companion, Joel, basking in the sun, taking dust baths, and enjoying the freedom she fought so hard to find.
