Iridessa’s Story
Iridessa and her companions, Silvermist, Tinkerbell, Fawn, and Vidia, were considered “spent” hens because their egg production had slowed. People measured their worth by the eggs they laid, even though they still needed care and companionship.
A family rescued the five hens and welcomed them to their property south of Denver. They had already given a home to Peter, a white peacock who had been abandoned there, and wanted him to have companionship. For nearly a decade, the family cared for Peter and his feathered companions.
When they needed to sell the property, they reached out to Luvin Arms to arrange a permanent home for the group. Iridessa came to the sanctuary with familiar companions, allowing those relationships to continue as they settled into a new place.
At Luvin Arms, Iridessa has space to explore, spend time with her flock, and choose how to spend her days. Her care does not depend on how many eggs she lays. She has a lifelong home where her needs, preferences, and relationships matter.
