Indigo’s Story
Indigo and her companions, Martha, Mercury, and Gaga, were left behind in their coop when the people caring for them moved away. They still depended on people for food, water, shelter, and protection, but their caregivers were gone.
Neighbors noticed and began caring for the chickens while a permanent home could be found. Their willingness to help brought Indigo and her friends to Luvin Arms, where they could stay together and receive consistent care.
Today, Indigo enjoys exploring her surroundings and taking part in enrichment. She has a lifelong home with familiar companions, with opportunities to choose how she spends her days. Her story reflects why the commitment to caring for backyard chickens must extend throughout their lives. Their needs and relationships matter just as much as those of any other companion animal.
