Button’s Story
In early August 2025, we received an urgent call after a predator attacked a newly established backyard coop. Two chicks had been killed, and the two survivors were severely injured. We brought both to our veterinarian for immediate treatment.
One of the chicks, whom we named Zipper, died within 24 hours from their injuries. Button survived and began recovering with medical care and close attention from our team. We named her Button because she was as cute as one.
Her experience shows how much chickens depend on the people caring for them to provide secure housing and protection from predators. Understanding those needs is part of the responsibility that comes with bringing them into our lives.
As she recovered, Button stayed separate from the flock for quarantine and to give her time to grow stronger before introductions. Today, she is a healthy adult chicken, making friends and spending her days with her flock. At Luvin Arms, she has a lifelong home where her safety, relationships, and individual needs will continue to guide her care.
