Story:
Roberta arrived at Luvin Arms with her sister, Carlita, when they were just a few weeks old. They bought them from a feed store for a child to play with. Two days later, the family realized they were unprepared to care for them and surrendered them to the sanctuary.
Their experience reflects what can happen when people bring animals home without understanding their needs or the commitment involved. Chicks depend on consistent care as they grow, and that responsibility continues throughout their lives. They need appropriate food, safe shelter, medical care, and companionship.
