Jasper’s Story
Jasper and Opal were found abandoned in a bucket on the side of the road. Both were less than a year old when they arrived at Luvin Arms on July 13, 2023. We don’t know who left them there or what their lives had been like before they were found.
Chickens left in boxes or buckets cannot seek shelter or protect themselves from predators and weather. Whatever the circumstances that led to Jasper and Opal’s abandonment, they depended on someone finding them and taking their need for care seriously.
Today, Jasper is part of our “Rock Flock,” where he shares his home with Opal and his friend Topaz. He has a vibrant crow and is quick on his feet, though he can be shy around people. His relationships with Opal and Topaz give us another way to get to know him, beyond what he chooses to share with his human caregivers.
At Luvin Arms, Jasper has a lifelong home where he can stay close to his companions and approach people on his own terms. Our responsibility is to respect those choices and provide the care he needs throughout his life.
