Story:
Lilac was rescued from a farm-to-table operation in eastern Colorado. Rejected by her mother, she was believed to be sick and injured. She was on the brink of being slaughtered. We were given just 24 hours to save her life. In the harsh reality of the meat industry, these young sentient beings are treated merely as commodities-broken, disposable, and seen as a financial burden when they are no longer useful.
Lilac was initially seen by a vet for what was believed to be an injured leg. When there was no improvement after a week, our vet recommended further examination and imaging. It was discovered that she had a septic joint in her front right leg. Treating this condition is essential, though it does not always guarantee a full recovery. While Lilac may show early signs of arthritis, she will live a full and healthy life here at the sanctuary, thanks to the dedication of our care staff and the hard work of the CSU vet team.
Lilac spends her days with sweet Finn and enjoys hanging out with her sheep family. We appreciate the love and support she receives from the sheep flock, the care team, and the entire Luvin Arms Community.
