Story:
Dezi, born into a dairy operation, began his life in a world where his future was uncertain. But his story took a positive turn when Eileen, his now cherished companion, was marked for rescue. Recognizing the importance of companionship for young goats, the dairy graciously offered to send Dezi along with her, ensuring that he, too, would have a chance at a happy life.
Since arriving at the sanctuary, Dezi has formed a beautiful bond with Eileen. The two spend their days exploring, running, jumping, and basking in the sunshine together. Their shared joy is a heartwarming reminder of the deep connections goats are capable of forming and the profound impact compassion can have on their lives.
Here at the sanctuary, Dezi will know only love, care, and freedom. We are filled with gratitude that his path aligned with Eileen’s and ours, allowing him to thrive in a place where he will be forever cherished and adored.
Did you know?
Many male goats, like Dezi, are often used as pack animals, tasked with carrying heavy loads during long treks. Despite their strength and resilience, they are frequently overburdened, carrying up to 30% of their body weight. Fortunately, Dezi was spared from this life and now enjoys a much more fulfilling and joyful existence at the sanctuary.
