Story:
Mic Jagger’s story is, unfortunately, all too common. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself—a fate many domesticated ducks and chickens face for various reasons. Unlike their wild counterparts, domesticated ducks like Jagger are not equipped to survive on their own. Without the instincts to avoid predators, find food, or seek safe shelter, their chances in the wild are slim. Predators such as foxes, coyotes, and even neighborhood dogs pose constant threats, leaving abandoned domesticated birds especially vulnerable.
Fortunately, Jagger is one of the lucky ones. Rescued in time, he now has a safe place to call home at our sanctuary. He’s been welcomed into the young duck flock, where he’s fitting in beautifully. Watching him explore, quack happily with his new feathered friends, and enjoy his days in safety is a heartwarming reminder of the importance of giving animals like Jagger the second chance they deserve.
