Story:
George, her sister, Violet, and brother Bean, were heroically rescued during a rainstorm at the beginning of April. Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation received a call from a community member about ducklings caught in the road during a rainstorm.
Their mom, a domestic breed duck who appeared to have been abandoned, had tragically been hit by a car and passed away. A young, compassionate community member noticed the ducklings struggling in the flowing water rushing in the direction of a sewer drain. As they hurried to save them, devastatingly, one was out of reach and washed away into the sewer drain. Due to the fact these ducklings are domesticated, they faced an uncertain fate, as wild ducks wouldn’t readily accept them. Recognizing their need for a safe haven filled with care and affection, we gladly opened our hearts.
George, Bean, and Violet are enjoying their days spent outside swimming in their pool and exploring the grass around them.
