Story:
Emerald’s journey to Luvin Arms began when a compassionate community member brought her to Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. It quickly became apparent that she was a domesticated duck, unable to be released into the wild or accepted by the wild ducks at the center. For domesticated ducks like Emerald, survival in the wild is impossible, and she needed a safe, loving home. Thanks to our partnership with Greenwood and our history of collaborating on wildlife and farmed animal rescues, they contacted us for help. Without a sanctuary to take her in, Emerald faced euthanasia—but we were fortunate to have the space and resources to welcome her with open arms.
Today, Emerald thrives at Luvin Arms alongside her flock of seven duck friends. While they are a bit shy, they spend their days happily exploring their yard and swimming in their pond. Emerald has formed a special bond with Koda. When Koda had to be on stall rest due to an injury, Emerald stayed by her side, showing her loving and loyal spirit.
