- Her family
Story:
Eclipse’s story, though brief, is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the depth of compassion that defines Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary. Born October 21, 2023, Eclipse and her seven siblings were welcomed into the world by her brave mother, Lola. She was welcomed under the sanctuary’s watchful care. Their arrival was a testament to Lola’s incredible strength and the sanctuary’s commitment to providing a safe haven for all its residents.
The Manager of Resident Care, witnessing Lola’s remarkable birthing process through the sanctuary’s camera system, quickly rallied the care team. Their swift and tender actions ensured that Lola and her newborns received the support they needed during these crucial first moments. The team’s dedication to the well-being of this new family highlighted the sanctuary’s ethos of care and compassion.
Unfortunately, Eclipse faced a serious health challenge. During an urgent visit to CSU, veterinarians discovered that Eclipse was born without an anus, a rare but known complication in large litters. Despite the best efforts of the veterinary team, Eclipse’s condition was such that no medical intervention could offer her a quality of life.
With a heavy heart, the sanctuary team made the compassionate decision to assist Eclipse in passing peacefully. This ensured that her brief time was met with kindness and dignity. Though incredibly difficult, this decision was made with Eclipse’s well-being as the utmost priority.
Eclipse’s memory lives on at Luvin Arms. This is a testament to the sanctuary’s dedication to caring for all its residents, regardless of their time with us. Her story is a touching chapter in the sanctuary’s ongoing mission to provide loving refuge for farmed animals in need. Eclipse will always be remembered as part of the Luvin Arms family. Her spirit is a gentle reminder of the love and compassion guiding the sanctuary’s work daily.
