Laura is a lifelong animal advocate who believes every being deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. She began volunteering with Luvin Arms in September 2025, initially looking for a meaningful way to help animals. What she found was a community and mission that deeply aligned with her own values and a place where she could continue learning from the residents themselves.
Since joining Luvin Arms, Laura has especially valued the opportunity to spend time with farmed animals and deepen her understanding of who they are as individuals. Her experience with animal rescue extends beyond the sanctuary. She has participated in the rescue and transport of companion animals and supported sanctuaries providing lifelong care to animals of several species. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to creating a world where animals are recognized for who they are, rather than for what humans expect from them.
Outside of Luvin Arms, Laura brings extensive professional experience in executive leadership and compliance across several industries, including aerospace. She has also served five terms on the Colorado State Board of Health, appointed by four governors, contributing her experience to statewide public health policy. She brings that same steadiness, integrity, and collaborative approach to her work at the sanctuary.
Whether she is helping with outreach, supporting a project, or simply spending time with the residents, Laura values the relationships at the heart of sanctuary life. She hopes that through volunteering, she can help others see farmed animals as individuals, each with their own personality, preferences, relationships, and life that matters.
