Some of Drew’s favorite memories have come from time spent with Maui. The first time Maui flopped onto his side while being petted and made it clear that a proper belly rub was in order was certainly memorable. But an even better discovery came when Drew learned just how visibly pigs can respond to affection. With just the right scratches, the hair along Maui’s back stands straight up, giving him what Drew describes as a very respectable mohawk.
For Drew, moments like these are reminders of how much there is to discover when people are given the opportunity to truly know farmed animals as individuals. The residents’ unique personalities, preferences, and ways of connecting with others continue to deepen Drew’s appreciation for them and make being part of the Luvin Arms community especially meaningful.
