Lanette began advocating for animals in the 7th grade when she discovered what was happening to the rabbits in her school’s FFA program. It wasn’t until several years later that she fully realized the impact that a single individual could have in improving the lives of animals. As a Dance Educator for 20 years, Lanette has had the opportunity to be impactful in many young lives. After moving to Colorado from Texas, she went on a tour at Luvin Arms and knew that she had found a place where she could fulfil her passion for animal advocacy and use her experiences working with children to help educate the next generation on how to live a compassionate and non-violent lifestyle.
Favorite Memory
A memory with Lily and Lizzie sticks out to me the most. Lily wasn’t feeling well and was sleeping. I watched Lizzie grab a blanket and cover Lily with it. Then Lizzie went and started grabbing mouthfuls of straw and tucking Lily in. It demonstrated to me just how deep an emotional connection these incredible beings can have with one another. It also showed so much intelligence and thought. That is one of the many things I enjoy about being a tour guide at Luvin Arms – showing the guests just how amazing and deserving of life all living creatures are.
