CJ was born in Georgia and spent most of their early life living in the deep south with all of the cultural influences that stem from that portion of the US. Despite the fact that it went against the grain of everything they were taught, they made the decision to go vegan in 2015 after educating themself on the realities of what goes on in animal agriculture industries. After that, they became a vocal advocate of veganism in online and public spaces, and they made it a life mission to share this knowledge with others to do their part to spread compassion in the world around them.
They graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2020 with Bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and English literature where they learned even more about the climate and ecological crises that the world is facing as a direct result of factory farming, and they also helped spread awareness about the negative impacts of factory farming when they worked as a TA for environmental ethics and environmental science. They have a passion for teaching, and for doing what they can to help further the mission of total liberation for farmed animals.
Since they started visiting the sanctuary they have made meaningful connections with many of the residents and relish the opportunity to introduce tour guests to all of the incredible animal friends they have made here, and the opportunity to share their stories of bravery, resilience, and the real world life-changing power of compassion.
