Alex grew up in middle Tennessee and has always loved animals. From a very young age, she helped her family care for all kinds of animals, including cats, dogs, goats, chickens, and ducks. Her love and compassion for animals definitely come from her grandmother, Mollie.
Growing up, she watched her nana take in any animal in need, whether it was a stray, wildlife, or an animal in a bad situation. She plays a big part in why Alex is the animal caretaker she is today. Alex’s career in animal care started in 2021 while working at a few local horse stables, and by 2024, she was working as a care specialist at an animal sanctuary, The Gentle Barn. During that time, Alex learned a lot about farmed animals, what they go through, and how important it is to advocate for them. This experience changed Alex’s life completely, including her food choices.
In 2025, Alex decided to leave her hometown and move to Denver. Knowing she wanted to continue her career in sanctuary work, she applied to several sanctuaries in the area, which eventually led her to care for our beloved animals here at Luvin Arms.
Alex’s favorite part of caring for the residents is performing treatments. “There’s nothing more rewarding than helping an animal heal and live their best life. Treating them also brings you and the resident closer together and teaches them that they can trust you.” Alex loves performing various treatments such as hoof trims, injections, laser treatments, cleaning wounds, and administering medicine.
