Kathi McGee joined the Luvin Arms family as a volunteer in September 2016, following a lifelong commitment to animal advocacy and compassionate living. Her journey began in 1991 at the SPCA of Texas in Dallas, where she spent three dedicated years walking dogs, counseling adoptions, and training new volunteers. In 2009, she expanded her advocacy by volunteering multiple times annually at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, where she worked closely with rescued dogs, including survivors from the Michael Vick dogfighting case. Her compassionate efforts at Best Friends led her to adopt one of her beloved canine companions.
Kathi’s professional background spans 37 successful years in the travel industry, culminating in her role at Ovation Travel in Dallas, where she was recognized multiple times as a top producer.
Kathi discovered Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary through the fortunate rescue of two domesticated ducks, Penelope and Malachi, abandoned near her home. Her experiences at Luvin Arms, particularly meeting Tito and learning the truth about the dairy industry, inspired her to transition from vegetarian to vegan. She credits Luvin Arms for changing her life, deepening her connection with animals, and fostering meaningful friendships.
Today, Kathi continues her dedicated volunteer work at Luvin Arms, where her love for all the residents—especially Felix—is evident.
