Tour Guide

Kimberly’s journey at Luvin Arms began even before she moved to Colorado. Preparing for a cross-country move from Georgia in 2022, she was doing everything possible to embrace the adventure ahead and was told about the animal sanctuary through a mutual friend. She reached out to the nonprofit explaining her timeline and eagerness to be involved as an animal care volunteer. She was trained her first month in the colorful state and hasn’t missed a week since. Over time, she has taken on the additional role of providing enrichment to several residents and joined the team part-time as a tour guide in 2024.

In the words of Kimberly, “I knew something greater was waiting for me out west, I just didn’t know what until I was introduced to Luvin Arms. The resiliency, kindness, and compassion I have witnessed from the residents and care staff is something I will be forever grateful for. I am truly a better person because of this special place.”

Favorite Memory
It seems simple, but my favorite memory at Luvin Arms was when my enrichment buddies – Teddy, Lentil, and Garbanzo – began to recognize me. These moments honored the sanctuary’s vision of empowering people to create change that leads to more compassionate choices for themselves, for the planet, and justice for all beings.
